22951. Over 50 percent of children between 15 to 18 age group receive 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine in the country
- Over 50 percent of children between the age of 15 and 18 years have received their 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
- The Prime Minister has expressed happiness over the Covid-19 vaccination drive of children. In a tweet today, the Prime minister said, young and youthful India showing the way. He said, it is important to vaccinate and observe all COVID-19 related protocols.
- He said, together, the country will fight this pandemic. Expressing happiness over the encouraging news that over 50 percent of youngsters between the age group of 15 to 18 have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, he said, let us keep the momentum.
22952. HP, Dell, Acer On Board As India’s Rs 90,000 Crore Semiconductor Investment Journey Begins
- The central government is targeting a share of 10% in global electronics manufacturing and aiming at Rs 90,000 crore investments in semiconductors alone.
- the government is already seeking applications from 100 domestic companies, start-ups and MSMEs under its Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme to create a “vibrant ecosystem for Semiconductor Chip Design” in India.

22953. Family Spent Two Years Building Four-Seater Plane On Their Own In Garden Shed By Watching YouTube Videos
- Ashok Aliseril, 38, his wife Abhilasha Dubey, 35, Tara, 6, and Diya, 3, weren't going to let the boredom get to them and instead invested their time in something more meaningful. Ashok, a trained pilot, with help from his family, spent nearly two years building the plane - with just the instruction manual and YouTube videos for guidance, The Telegraph reported.
- The 38-year-old engineer from England's Essex, and his wife Abhilasha had wanted to buy an aircraft capable of accommodating both them and their two young daughters. However, they could not find a suitable option on the market.
- Almost two years later, the result is an incredible red and silver number complete with luxury seats and plenty of leg room. It was reported that the entire project cost £155,000 (Rs 1.57 crore).
22954. Mitsubishi Electric India launches CNC-on-Wheels; aims to improve manufacturing ecosystem
- Mitsubishi Electric Computerised Numerical Controllers (CNCs) has launched a training and demonstration caravan “CNC-on-Wheels”. This vehicle was flagged-off from the Mitsubishi Electric, CNC Technical Centre in Peenya which will start its journey in the Peenya industrial area first and then proceed to other Industrial areas.
- Mitsubishi Electric CNC offers advanced CNC control systems to take the machining needs of customers to a higher performance level. The company supplies CNC packages and technologies to various factory machines. Mitsubishi Electric India started its CNC manufacturing facility in Peenya, Bengaluru in 2017 to support the ‘Make in India’ initiative and aid industries that want to adopt the latest manufacturing technology.
- The “CNC-on-Wheels” is an initiative of Mitsubishi Electric CNC which has it’s focused on contributing to the improvement of the manufacturing ecosystem of India.
22955. M&M To Manufacture Hero Electric Vehicles Under Strategic Partnership
- The Mahindra Group announces a strategic partnership with Hero Electric, one of India’s leading EV manufacturers, to cater to the ever-growing demand for EVs in the country.
- Under the collaboration, Mahindra will manufacture Hero Electric’s Optima and NYX at its Pitampur plant to meet the growing demands. The partnership will create multiple synergies to help drive adoption across the country.
- With this collaboration, along with the expansion of their existing Ludhiana facility, Hero will be able to meet its demand of manufacturing over 1 million EVs per year by 2022. This will further enable them to drive the adoption of a cleaner mode of transport. The joint development efforts will also be a key factor in developing the platform approach to help electrification of the Peugeot Motorcycles portfolio.
22956. Indian Railways’ Vistadome Coaches Receive Overwhelming Response on Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Goa Routes
- CR has registered an occupancy of 20,407 passengers with a revenue of Rs.2.38 crore between October to December-2021.
- Vistadome are European-style coaches equipped with advanced features such as wide glass windows, glass roofs, observation lounges and rotatable seats, which can rotate up to 180 degrees for passengers.
- The Vistadome coaches were first introduced in the Mumbai-Madgaon Janshatabdi Express in 2018, followed by the introduction of these coaches in the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express from 26 June, 2021. “Due to the huge demand from the passengers, the second Vistadome coach on Mumbai-Pune Route was attached to Deccan Queen from 15.8.2021.”
22957. PM Gati Shakti to unlock trade potential of Northeast India
- As a result of the Gati Shakti, the delayed approach to project implementation in Northeast India is expected to undergo a tectonic shift. Infrastructure development projects in Northeast India will experience coordinated planning and timely implementation.
- This plan will improve the existing supply chains and for exploring new value chains, including through electronic commerce and the application of new technologies such as blockchain, both for internal and external trade.
- The Northeast region will be able to optimally utilise its resources and capacity for trade in several agricultural and horticultural products in particular in which it has significant marketable surplus. For a better regional connectivity, projects to connect Samdrup-Jongkhar in Bhutan and Guwahati, and the trilateral highway between India, Myanmar and Thailand are also under implementation.

22958. Rise in Exports benfitting apple growers from states like Jammu & Kashmir
- India's apple exports have jumped 82 per cent since 2014, while fruit imports increased marginally by 3.8 per cent during the same time, according to the commerce ministry data.
- Apple exports during April-November this fiscal stood at USD 12.25 million, indicating healthy growth over the years. Benefitting a lot of small big farmers from Jammu & Kashmir region.

22959. UAE’s Investment In Jammu & Kashmir, A Big Victory For India & Setback For Pakistan.
- UAE emerging as a major partner in Jammu and Kashmir’s development. In the past few months, the Union Territory has signed a slew of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Abu Dhabi to build strong business relations.
- In December last year, the J&K administration signed an MoU with University College Birmingham (UCB) Dubai to explore potential progression opportunities through institutional partnerships with vocational colleges and universities in Kashmir.
- The UAE making an entry into Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in the past 70 years is also a recognition of New Delhi’s policy to scrap Article 370 that gave special powers to the erstwhile state. Incidentally, the UAE was one of the first countries that had responded favorably to India’s decision to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution in 2019.
22960. Smart Anganwadis’ to become reality in Jammu soon
- The JSCL ( Jammu Smart City Limited) is converting 14 buildings in Jammu into Smart Anganwadi Centers under Smart City Mission programme of Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
- Upgradation of Anganwadi Centers will provide better early childhood care and make the facility more child-friendly to nurture the mental and physical development of children.
- Chief Executive Officer, JSCL informed that several items ranging from furniture to stationery items like Chair & Tables for kids as well as for visitors, pre-school kits, white boards, stationary items, Utensils, storage bins, hygiene kits, Almirah, racks and wall clocks were procured to convert conventional buildings of anganwadis into structures with better amenities. The Aim of this project is to improve the quality of life of people by enabling local development and harnessing technology to create smart outcomes for citizens.
